1) Look at the Primary Categories and Secondary Categories for Entry.
2) If your film ONLY falls into a primary category, submit with WITHOUTABOX into that category.
3) If your film ALSO falls into one of the Secondary or Niche Categories, then submit to that chosen category.
MULTIPLE SECONDARY CATEGORIES:
Your film may fit several categories and we love that! Select the niche category that most identifies your film and submit on your cover page why your film fits that NICHE category as well as other categories for which you think you contend.
Please include on your COVER PAGE your support for that category along with your SECURE DIGITAL LINK TO YOUR FILM, if not on WAB.
For the 2013 Season, GVIFF asks you to consider the environment and provide access to a secure online screener, preferably through WAB and VIMEO for faster jury critique and expedition of results.
To be eligible for the Emerging Filmmaker award entrants must be currently enrolled in MIDDLE SCHOOL or HIGH SCHOOL and can submit through WAB and GVIFF. Your entry into this category authorizes GVIFF to submit your film on your behalf to our partner Upstate Youth Film Festival. We request that you send us 2 DVD copies of your film should you enter into this category.
Remember to include your Withoutabox number on all submissions and materials.
All films submitted to Greenville International Film Festival are selected by a three-tier festival selection committee and international Award-Winning Jury Panel of professionals from the industry, which evaluates each film, looking for excellence in quality and originality in new independent cinema. Films will be judged on categories including but not limited to creative direction, cinematography, sound/music, casting, and producing.
Films can be submitted to multiple categories with one entry free. However, please check each category for specific rules and requests. The festival will showcase approximately 50 non-studio films, which include features, shorts and documentaries.
The 2013 Greenville International Film Festival will be held on June 5-9, 2013. All winners, including nominees for Best Actor/Actress, Best Original Score, and Emerging Filmmaker* will be announced at the Closing Awards Gala to be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Entrants submitting to multiple categories must provide written statements along with their entries as to why their entry should be considered in specialty categories (ie. Green Film, Latino Film, Native American/Indigenous Film, Spiritual Film, Student Film, Foreign Film). Please see specific category for all guidelines and requirements.
Remember to include your WAB number on all submissions and materials.
Each entry is encouraged to be void of complex BD/DVD menus and adhere to the festival rules and international copyright/IP laws. Only the Producer and/or Director and/or Copyright holder of the film may submit an entry into a select category. To be eligible for role-specific categories, entrant must submit proof and/or verification of candidacy as they pertain to the category.

OFFICIAL SELECTIONS: your submission is your acknowledgement that you allow GVIFF to use your film in part for its marketing purposes of the festival season.
Per our policy, GVIFF does not distribute or sell your film for any means. (We are a non-profit organization, after all and support the endeavors of our filmmakers). A secure link (provided by the filmmaker) is strictly only for purposes of Jury & critique as our panel of industry professionals are comprised from various international media markets. It is only in this strict manner wherein your film is shared.
